22. Foresight

June 12th, 2008 by Bruce M

As we become purer channels for God’s light, we develop an appetite for the sweetness that is possible in this world. A miracle worker is not geared toward fighting the world that is, but toward creating the world that could be.–Marianne Williamson

defined as: 1: an act or the power of foreseeing : prescience… 2: provident care : prudence …3: an act of looking forward; also : a view forward

Practicing the principle of foresight can be a very valuable tool for strategic activities in my public life as well as my private life. It helps me to stay aware of my need to connect any future oriented activities or project to a plan of action in order to make an effect in shaping my future. This process puts an impact on my decisions when I look at scenarios, and methods of planning. I can be more creative in even the most simple of plans for the future. For many years I did not plan anything for my future. My belief system was based on my thinking that there was no future for me. In recovery my new belief is based on that I have a life, and it is in my best interest to make some positive plans for the future. Foresight gives me permission to explore all the grand possibilities, goals and dreams that clean living provides. Foresight includes me in a divine act of creating my life, and a large range of approaches that combines forecasting, and planning with strategy. Once again my support plays a big part in helping me to analyze, and set my priorities. I believe foresight is not only about looking forward, but also looking deeper. Many of my decisions today are based on influence, not only to myself but to others. Today I can use a set of steps and traditions of work in my long-range planning. Foresight helps me make better decisions for the long term future that may not happen for many years to come. It also assists in coming up with an alternative back up plan. Things change and so do I. Positive visions of success can be a part of the whole process, yet at times the plans originally made do not always turn out the way I envisioned it. Today I continue to look forward, with head held high, not forgetting where I came from, and embracing the belief that I can make plans today and take proper steps to achieve my dreams. With eyes wide open today, my future looks bright.

Love and Respect, Bruce M.
